In Loving Memory of Maria Mercado
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Mercado, who left this world on November 12, 2025, at the age of 76. Though our sadness is deep, we take comfort in celebrating the beautiful life of a woman whose love, strength, and devotion shaped generations.
Born in Quiroga, Michoacán to Amalia Martinez Rodriguez and Jose Flores Mejia, Maria carried her roots proudly and built a life centered on family, tradition, and unconditional love. Maria was the heart of her home — a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Maria found joy in the simple, meaningful moments: cooking for her family, gathering everyone around the table, sharing stories, and filling her home with the comforting aroma of her meals. Her kitchen was her love language, and each dish she made reflected the care and affection she poured into her family.
More than anything, Maria cherished being surrounded by her loved ones. Her happiest days were spent with her husband Augusto Mercado, children and grandchildren — laughing, celebrating, and creating memories that will forever live in their hearts.
Maria is survived by her three sons: Augusto (Karla) Mercado, Charles (Vera) Mercado, and Monroe (Mayra) Scott-Flores; and her four grandchildren: Adam Mercado, Kaylee Mercado, Nicholas Angulo Mercado, and Alexander Mercado. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Flores Martinez, Maria de Jesus Flores Martinez and her brother, Antonio Flores; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
As we say goodbye, we honor her life, her sacrifices, and the immense love.
“Forever in our hearts, always in our home.”
