Idalia Sandoval De Prado Obituary

Idalia Sandoval De Prado
September 23, 1951– March 20, 2025.

With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Idalia, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith.

Idalia was born in Corralitos, Mexico, one of five siblings. On a trip to Aguililla, Mexico, she met our father, and according to him, it was love at first sight. Winning her heart was no easy feat, but with patience and persistence, our father did just that. Shortly after, they married and embarked on a new journey together, immigrating to the United States in 1972. Here, they built a beautiful home and a family filled with love, raising four children—her three daughters and son—and later welcoming eight cherished grandchildren.

Her greatest pride and joy in life was her family. She loved nothing more than having everyone together, and no matter the situation, Mom never left our side. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, a day that was never up for negotiation—everyone knew it would be celebrated at her house. She poured her love into every detail, especially with her famous mole, which she made for our turkey. The house would be filled with laughter, children and grandchildren running around, creating memories that will forever be in our hearts.

Our mother was the heart and soul of our family—the queen of our home. She was intelligent, honest, and strong, a woman who always spoke her truth. You always knew where you stood with mom.  If you visited her, you’d never leave empty-handed; she was always ready to cook and share whatever she had. Meticulous in everything she did, as she often said, if your going to do anything, do it right or don’t do it at all. She was also kind beyond measure—the strongest woman we have ever known.

She embraced life with a fearless spirit, always up for a new challenge and eager to explore new places. She had the blessing of traveling to Europe, where she fulfilled her dream of visiting Italy, Greece, France and Spain, marveling at the beauty and history of each place. No matter where she went, she carried her adventurous heart with her.

At home, she found peace in nature, tending to her garden with care. Her home was always blooming, a reflection of the beauty she cultivated in every aspect of her life. She loved taking long walks, completing her “loop” almost every morning, savoring the world around her. Her Catholic faith was her foundation—she prayed the rosary daily and sought strength in her unwavering devotion. She also found inspiration in music and her YouTube videos on daily motivation and prayer, always filling her days with words of faith and encouragement.

Through every challenge, she fought with unyielding strength and grace, never backing down in the face of adversity. Those who knew her always spoke of her warmth, her generosity, and the love she extended to all.

Mamá, you will always be with us. We will carry forward your love, your strength, and the values you instilled in us. We remain united as a family, just as you taught us.

We love you, Mom.
