R E S O L U T I O N
IN LOVING HONOR AND REMEMBRANCE OF
Elnora Caruth
Aunt Nonnie
February 24, 1923 — March 20, 2026
A Life Fully and Faithfully Lived — 103 Years of Grace
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called home our beloved Elnora Caruth, Aunt Nonnie, a woman of extraordinary faith, strength, and love, who lived 103 magnificent years upon this earth; and
WHEREAS, Elnora Caruth, Aunt Nonnie, was born in the great state of Oklahoma on February 24, 1923, where she was raised in faith, took her marriage vows, and laid the early foundations of a life that would touch and transform countless souls; and
WHEREAS, she answered the call of a new season, journeying to Nevada where she opened her home and her heart to her younger brother, James Alexander, standing as a pillar of support and shelter in his time of need — embodying without hesitation the truest meaning of family; and
WHEREAS, Auntie Nonnie faithfully relocated to California alongside her beloved husband, Pastor Will Caruth, where together they built a home, a family, and a ministry that became a lighthouse for all who came near; and
WHEREAS, she served with distinction and devotion as the Pastor’s wife, a devoted mother to the Church, mentor, confidant, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the keeper of her family’s legacy — our Matriarch — pouring her wisdom, intercession, and unconditional love into every life she encountered; and
WHEREAS, following the passing of their mother, Lauvina Alexander, Elnora “Nonnie” Caruth stepped into the sacred role of second mother and living model to Jenell Alexander-Moctezuma and her baby brother, James L. Alexander Jr. — the two youngest still living at home with their father, James Alexander, Elnora’s own brother — while their older siblings had already married and begun lives of their own. Auntie Nonnie covered them, guided them, and showed them by example what it means to walk in faith, dignity, and love; and
WHEREAS, she outlived her parents, all of her brothers and sisters, her beloved husband Pastor Will Caruth, her three sons, her oldest daughter, and her grandson — bearing each profound loss with a faith that never wavered, a spirit that never broke, and a love that continued to pour forth through every remaining year of her extraordinary life; and
WHEREAS, she is survived and forever cherished by her four daughters: Jorene, Clarice, Mildred, and Patricia. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, a plethora of beloved cousins and dear friends - all of whose lives are immeasurably richer for having been loved by her;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
That we, the family of Elnora “Nonnie” Caruth, do hereby pause in solemn gratitude and celebration to honor the life of this remarkable woman. We recognize the extraordinary legacy she leaves — of prayer, sacrifice, love, and faith — and we commit to carrying her spirit forward in our lives, our families, and our service to one another.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be presented to the family of Elnora Caruth, Aunt Nonnie, as an enduring tribute to a life poured out in love, anchored in faith, and celebrated across generations. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in the eternal peace she so faithfully proclaimed.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
